Candy Cane nails and some new jewelry!

Happy Wednesday!!
I've been neglecting posting this mani for a few days, I think I've been wearing it since Sunday or so.  I decided to try my hand at my very first tape mani after seeing all of the lovely designs out there.  I was in a festive mood so candy canes it was!  This is two coats of OPI "designer de better" with China Glaze Ruby Pumps on top for the candy stripes.  I messed up in a few spots but overall I like it!!  Also the shimmer in the two polishes is yummy!!

I'm well into my week long vacation so I have been a busy bee as far as jewelry making is concerned.  Check out my newest listings!

Nails Inc. special effects

On Tuesday I had a $20 off of $50 coupon for Sephora.  I needed some powder anyway, so decided to go see what else I could find. I ended up getting the Nails Inc. special effects duo of Kensington teal black and the Wyndham top coat.  I get excited about flakey top coats so I snagged it with my coupon.  The flakey topcoat has a very pretty duochrome of blue and green, the shift in color is very dramatic.  You'll have to excuse the tipwear as this is after a few days, but I had some good lighting to show off the effect.
This is two coats of OPI Nail Envy, two coats of Kensington, two coats of the flakey, and topped off with some Seche Vite.  That's a lot of coats!!

Short Timer's

I have a wicked case of short timer's sickness.  Specifically, I took off of work all of next week and the anticipation is making it hard to concentrate at work.  The lovely prospect of 10 full days away from work (this is including weekends of course) is quite lovely.  It is also making me panic a bit as I realize that we are in the final two weeks to Christmas.  Eek!!
In other news, I put some earrings up in my shop.  I have some ideas bouncing around for some new bracelets and necklaces... I look forward to using next week to build up some inventory in my shop.

Revlon Starry Pink and some jewelry!

It's cold(ish) (at least for southern Louisiana it's pretty cold!), and I am totally in holiday mode.  I recently started making some holiday jewelry just to satisfy that festive feeling.  I found myself at the bead store pawing at all of the red and green pretties, so I couldn't resist throwing together some bracelets and earrings.  I really like how they came out!  I may make some more for gifting.
Here's a couple:

I also painted my nails last night with a new polish I picked up a few weeks back.  I was in the mood for something feminine and something "snowy".. I think this did the trick! This is Revlon's "Starry Pink".  My nails are a bit stubby right now, as I recently broke one while playing with my cat.
I totally love this color..it's the first Revlon I think I've used in years but I kept seeing it swatched on blogs and fell in love.  I used three coats because the formula was a bit milky and sheer.  I can still see a little bit of nail underneath but it doesn't bother me.  I used two coats of OPI's Nail Envy (original formula) as a base and a coat of Seche Vite to finish it off.
Here's my cat Albus admiring the bottle, I think he likes it too! (or at least likes to knock it off the table):

Hello World!

I've decided to start a blog in support of my Etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/silverthaw
I'll be posting about my jewelry as well as some of my other passions - including nailpolish!
Please check it out!
